about Me

My name is Cory Medina and I am the founder of Medina Ceramics.  I live in Portland, Oregon with my wife Anna and our two cats Audrey Hepburn and Betty Davis.  With over 15 years experience and a Masters Degree in Ceramics, I have been part of a number of national juried shows, gallery exhibitions, and workshop demonstrations.

I grew up in Western Kansas, and learned the value of hard work, problem solving, and being able to work with what you have. 

I use hand-building techniques and fashioned most of my tools by hand, especially a clay extruder that I built during my bachelor studies.

All ceramic work that I make is carved or hand-built.  I believe when someone puts time, effort, and hard work into something, they themselves will be seen in their work.
